On September 15, 2020, Kim & Chang's Intellectual Property Practice hosted a webinar on "Expanded Scope of Protection Under the Unfair Competition Prevention and Trade Secret Protection Act (UCPA) in Korea – What type of actions and unfair competitive activities are prohibited and to what extent the UCPA applies?"

Hisanori Aoki moderated the session, and Sang-Wook Han, Chang-Oh Ryu, and Won Kim presented on updates on the law along with notable case studies, and addressed key challenges and practical considerations to effectively prevail under the UCPA in Korea.

Organized in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the webinar was well-received by IP delegates from various companies, law offices, and organizations doing business in Korea as a great opportunity to enhance their understanding on the UCPA issues. More of such webinars on other key issues will follow to bring together IP colleagues and to provide a platform for discussions and networking.
