Ji-Young (Bellina) SEO joined Kim & Chang in 2011 as a patent attorney in the firm’s International Patent Department. 

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Seo has practiced at two law firms, including as the managing attorney of China Team for Muhann Patent & Law Firm.  She also received training from China Science Patent Trademark Agents Ltd. (CSPTAL).

She specializes in Chinese and domestic patent practices, including prior art searches, patent prosecution, litigation, consulting, and valuation of technology and enterprise.  Her clients include Chinese IT, energy, car manufacturing and display companies, Korean entertainment, semiconductor, electronic, capital companies and medical universities, etc.

She routinely lectures on Chinese patent system at the Korean patent attorney training courses and taught IP lessons at Ajou Graduate School of Industry and gives seminar lectures at several forums. 

She has extensively written on Chinese patent law and served as an expert advisor reviewing several publications, including International Patent Litigation Standard Manual (published by Korea Electronics Association) and Foreign Intellectual Property Guide Book.  Her other works include contributions to comparative research on patent systems of 5 countries (South Korea, US, Europe, China and Japan) and harmonization of intellectual property between South and North Koreas.
