Capital Intellectual Property Services Association Seminar

On April 20, 2021, attorneys in Kim & Chang's China IP Practice were invited to speak as lecturers online at the Capital Intellectual Property Services Association’s seminar, held both online and offline in Beijing. Under the subject of “IP Protection and Enforcement Environment in Korea,” Huilian Kang (Chinese Patent Attorney) introduced an overview of the Korean IP protection environment along with the recent law developments in Korea. Young-Lan Cha (Korean Patent Attorney) presented on the differences between Korean and Chinese litigation/trial system and gave examples of the representative cases along with Sun-Young Park (Korean Trademark/Design Attorney). In addition, Hyunjin Chang (Korean Attorney), Man-Kum Lee (Korean Patent Attorney) and Kyu-Bin Lim (Korean Patent Attorney) also participated to discuss and answer questions raised by the participants during the Q&A session.

 

Organized as a series of activities to commemorate World Intellectual Property Day (April 26th), the seminar was well-received by industry representatives and IP practitioners in China as a great opportunity to enhance their understanding on relief measures in IP infringement disputes and differences in IP systems between the two countries.
