Zhejiang Patent Agents Association's Online Lecture

Two attorneys in Kim & Chang's IP Practice – Young-Lan Cha (Korean Patent Attorney) and Huilian Kang (Chinese Patent Attorney) – were invited to speak as lecturers at the Zhejiang Patent Agents Association's online lecture session on December 11, 2020. Under the subject of “The Overview of Patent Application and Examination Practice in Korea and Recent Trends of the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO),” Ms. Cha and Ms. Kang presented on procedural considerations and tips on patent prosecution such as responses and options to office actions or rejections, expedited examinations, divisional applications, and unique aspects of examination, as well as recent KIPO trends including patent related statistics and its structural reorganization.

This online lecture will be shared on the WeChat platform of the Zhejiang Patent Agents Association to approximately 500 IP delegates from 130 law firms in China, and it is expected to be a useful content which would serve as a great opportunity to enhance their understanding on current key issues and the differences between the Chinese and Korean IP systems. More of such online lectures on diverse topics will follow for further discussions and networking opportunities.
