Overview

Kang Kwon is a patent attorney in the firm's Electrical Practice Group.  

Mr. Kwon's practice covers a variety of intellectual property matters, including prosecution of patent applications, prior art search, invalidation actions before the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Patent Court, enforcement and litigations of patents as well as client counseling on the Korean IP system, and patent filing strategy.  Most notably, he represented international clients in a number of multi-national patent litigations involving semiconductors, displays, and smartphones.  Mr. Kwon has expertise in a wide range of technical fields including software, wireless communications, displays, semiconductors, and internet technology.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Kwon worked as a software engineer at software companies in Korea, where he developed dozens of mobile applications and managed servers for mobile applications.  Based on his expertise, Mr. Kwon co-authored a book on mobile application programming for a standard Korean mobile platform. 

Mr. Kwon received his B.S., with distinction, in electrical and computer engineering from Seoul National University.  He received an LL.B. from Korea National Open University and an LL.M. from Stanford Law School.  He is admitted to the Korean Patent Bar and the State Bar of California.

Kang Kwon is a patent attorney in the firm's Electrical Practice Group.
