Sanghun (Andrew) Lee is a seasoned patent attorney specializing in high-tech patent matters. Mr. Lee’s practice focuses on patent litigation and advising clients on patent licensing and patent prosecution. He has successfully represented international companies in a number of high profile global patent disputes. He also has experience in patent licensing, prior art searches, patentability and infringement analysis, freedom to operate opinions, and IP counselling.  

Since his admission to the State Bar of California, he has expanded his practice to assisting Korean clients with their IP litigations in the US, which is one of the practice areas Mr. Lee has primarily focused on more recently. In close coordination with US counsel, Mr. Lee has assisted a number of Korean companies of varying sizes in navigating complex US proceedings before the US federal district courts, Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and the US International Trade Commission (ITC). 

He brings a strong technical background with him into the cases, which includes an advanced degree in electrical engineering and experiences in patent and trade secret cases involving a wide range of technologies, including rechargeable batteries for electric vehicles, solar cell panels, telecommunication, medical devices, LED technology, flat panel display, semiconductor technology, cloud computing, and mobile user interface. With the technical knowledge gleaned from handling various IP cases, he has also expanded his practice to assisting clients in various government investigations involving technologies. 

Mr. Lee received his B.S. in Physics (2009) and M.E. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University. He received an LL.B. from the Cyber University of Korea and an LL.M. from Stanford Law School. He is admitted to the Korean Patent Bar and is a member of the Korean Patent Attorneys Association. He is also licensed to practice in the State of California.
