Seonjeong Lee joined Kim & Chang in 2010 and is a patent attorney in the firm's Intellectual Property Practice.

She received her B.E. in Electrical Engineering (2009) from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and was admitted to the Korean Patent Bar in 2009. Ms. Lee's practice focuses on a wide range of intellectual property matters including patent prosecution, prior art search, patent infringement litigations, scope confirmation and invalidity actions, and general litigations including cases involving the Trade Secret Protection Act. She has extensive experience in the area of patent disputes.

Patent Matters: Ms. Lee has prosecuted dozens of patent applications before the Korean Intellectual Property Office, including appeals to the IPTAB against final rejections. Further, she has represented multi-national corporations in patent infringement actions, scope confirmation actions and invalidation actions. In the course of patent disputes, she conducted in-depth patent infringement analysis and patent validity analysis including conducting prior searches for US, Japan and European references against several Korean patents, and preparing patent analysis reports thereon. She also has presented technical presentations before the IPTAB in the scope confirmation and invalidity actions and drafted briefs filed before the courts and the IPTAB. 

Other Practice Areas: Based on her knowledge of various fields including semiconductor manufacturing/inspection equipment, LED/OLED displays, smartphones, online brokering services and online advertising technologies, Ms. Lee has also provided technical support in non-patent disputes. She has experiences in trade secret misappropriation cases and product certification issues.
