Ms. Yoon is an esteemed authority in intellectual property law with a wealth of experience spanning various fields including chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Her impressive career includes notable roles at law firms, a corporation, and the Korean Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board (IPTAB).
With her expertise as a highly skilled patent attorney, Ms. Yoon has demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of patent application, examination, registration, and litigation at international law firms specializing in intellectual property. She has successfully represented clients from diverse industries such as energy, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology, including corporations, R&D institutes, individual inventors, and investors. Her services include strategic guidance on the creation, protection, and utilization of intellectual property rights. Furthermore, she provides patent research and evaluation services and has played a significant role in preventing and resolving patent infringement disputes.
From 2014 to 2021, Ms. Yoon served as the Chief IP Officer at an innovative pharmaceutical company, where she played a key role in establishing a robust global patent portfolio for new drug development. She also oversaw technology-based investments, technology transactions, and mergers and acquisitions for the company and its subsidiaries. Leveraging her extensive knowledge of intellectual property rights, she formulated comprehensive and innovative R&D and marketing strategies while efficiently managing disputes related to patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and unfair competition.
As a culmination of her extensive private sector experience, Ms. Yoon was appointed as the Chief Administrative Judge at the Korean IPTAB within the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO).
