Jong-Dug Choi is a Foreign Patent Attorney in Kim & Chang's Intellectual Property Practice who is a member of the German patent bar, and has previously practiced before the European Patent Office as a professional representative (European Patent Attorney).
He has advised clients on a broad range of issues across the spectrum of IP rights. He has experience of litigation in the German and Korean courts (infringement and invalidation/nullity proceedings) and has handled cases in the German and Korean Patent Office as well as the European Patent Office.
Prior to joining Kim & Chang in 2015, he practiced in Düsseldorf and Munich handling intellectual property matters in Germany and Europe. This experience provides him with background and context, in particular when advising clients operating in Europe and Germany.
At Kim & Chang, he advises clients in: contentious patent matters (especially having a European or German element), patent portfolio management and prosecution strategy, prior art search opinions including patentability, validity, and freedom-to-operate studies, as well as licensing.
