Kum-Uk Lee joined Kim & Chang in 2011 and is a patent attorney in the firm's Electrical/Software Practice.

He received his BS in Electronics (1990) from Yonsei University, and MBA (2007) from the University of Iowa.

Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Lee served as a Patent Examiner at the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) from 1994 to 2004, an Administrative Patent Judge in the Intellectual Property Tribunal of KIPO from 2004 to 2007, and a Technical Examiner at the Patent Court of Korea from 2008 to 2009. His final post was as the Trial Policy Director of the Intellectual Property Tribunal of KIPO. His practice focuses on a wide range of intellectual property matters, with emphasis on patent prosecution, enforcement, and litigation in the electrical and electronic engineering fields.
