Seong-Woon KIM joined Kim & Chang in 2003 and is a senior patent attorney in the firm's Intellectual Property Group. 

He received his B.E. in Electrical Engineering (1981) from Dong-A University and was admitted as a Korean Patent and Trademark Attorney in 2001. Before joining the firm, Seong-Woon KIM worked at KIPO from 1992 to 2003 as an examiner in electronics, information, and semiconductor fields. While working at KIPO, he studied Chinese at Hankuk University Foreign Studies in 1996. Subsequent to his studies, he passed the examination for studying abroad program provided by the Korean government in 1997. In Beijing, he studied Chinese intellectual property law for one year at Renmin University and continued to study technical-economics for two years at Qinghua University. With his firsthand experience in China, Mr. Kim is now responsible for Chinese and Taiwanese cases at Kim & Chang. He is also fluent in Japanese and in 2007, he contributed to the interchange of friendship between KPAA and JPAA as a Director of International Affairs at KPAA. Mr. Kim is a member of Asia Patent Attorney Association (APAA) and Intellectual Property Protection Association (AIPPI) in Korea.
