Hun Shik Kim joined Kim & Chang in 2002 and is a patent attorney in the firm's Integrated Technology Practice. He received his B.E. in Electrical Engineering (1999) and LL.M. from University of Southern California, School of Law (2007-2008). He was admitted to the Korean Patent Bar in 2001. 

Mr. Kim has experience in a variety of professional work, including: 

• Preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the field of electronics, semiconductors, telecommunication, and software 
• Opposition and invalidation proceedings before the Korean Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board
• Client counseling regarding Korean IP and international patent filing strategy 
• Patent litigation including patent infringement litigation before the court and the Korea Trade Commission 
• Patentability, infringement, freedom-to-operate, and validity opinions 
• Patent license negotiation and patent dispute resolution 
• General litigation, including cases involving the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act and the Product Liability Act 
• Client counseling regarding Standard Essencial Patents (SEP) and relevant antitrust issues in Korea
• Due diligence and clearance of patented technology
• Technical analysis in general court actions relating to cellular communcation, semiconductor and software technologies

Mr. Kim is knowledgeable in the areas of semiconductor devices/equipment, software, telecommunication, LED devices, image processing, optical telecommunications and Business Method. In the very large patent dispute cases between a multinational company and Korean conglomerates, Mr. Kim was the main supervising and coordinating patent attorney for all technical and litigation coordination issues.
