Jin-Baek KIM joined Kim & Chang in 2012, and is a Korean patent attorney in the firm's Integrated Technology Practice. 

He received his B.S. in Material Science & Engineering (1997) from Yonsei University, and was admitted to the Korean Patent Bar in 2004. Prior to joing the firm, he worked at Fujitsu Ltd. from 2008-2012 as in-house patent counsel, Toyota Technical Development Co. from 2006-2008, and Yoon & Yang IP law practice group from 2005-2006.

Mr. Kim has handled a wide variety of cases, including obtaining patents to protect core technologies for electronic devices, microelectromechanical systems, semiconductor manufacturing, polymers and nanomaterials as well as drive and emissions control in the automotive field. He is especially skilled in effectively distilling and communicating both complex scientific and legal issues.

While working at Fujitsu Ltd., Mr. Kim also handled strategic cooperation issues between standardization and intellectual property, in addition to the prosecution of patent applications.

Through his hands-on experience in Japan, Mr. Kim is particularly skilled in communicating with Japanese companies.
